Eastern Europe
“We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.”
– Anonymous
The large stretch of Eastern Europe runs from the Balkans to the Carpathian Mountains and into the western part of Russia. This is a unique area to enjoy both sights and adventures, from the stunning Adriatic Sea in Croatia, to seeing bears roaming the forests and mountains of Romania. Also, it is less expensive to travel to most of these countries than other parts of Europe.
The farthest east countries in this category are Ukraine and Russia, off-limits to Americans for now. Past travelers to Ukraine, and indeed also displaced citizens, that we have met while living in Germany, tell of the stunning scenic beauty of Ukraine. We hope someday to be able to visit.
